The Therapist

Yvonne is a certified shiatsu therapist since 2008. She is passionate about shiatsu and says: “Every time I am touched by the serenity, deep relief and insights that shiatsu can provide.”

After having done my masters in law at Cambridge University, I decided I needed to do something with my hands to remain in balance myself. I completed a four year IOKAI shiatsu training in Amsterdam as well as a two year course in Western medical Healthcare.

I am a certified member of the Dutch Shiatsu Association (Shiatsu Verenging Nederland), member of the European Iokai Shiatsu Association (EISA) and registered with the Body for Complementary Health care Therapists (RBCZ). I am also registered with the Complaints and dispute resolution committee (SCAG) and with the body for disciplinary law (TCZ). I adhere to the privacy regulations. My Chamber of Commerce registration is 34323079.

As a member of the Shiatsu Association Netherlands, I comply with several quality standards, amongst which, annual complementary training. Amongst others, this includes training regarding:

  • back complaints
  • women’s issues (period, menopause) as well as Chinese yoga (stretching) for women
  • pregnancy and delivery
  • shiatsu for children
  • complaints regarding breathing and tight feeling in chest
  • Treatment techniques, mix of shiatsu and techniques used by rebalancers and chiropractors
  • Diagnose through Japanse acupuncture techniques
  • Therapeutic formation as a therapist

I also run a company that organizes post-graduate trainings for shiatsu therapists with renowed teachers from abroad. I have been doing this since 2016. It is so much fun! See for more information

And lastly, I value the power of food on your mental and psychical well-being. I cook for groups on retreats under the name Inner Peas.
